At Eros Elias, we are a family of olive oil producers. but we are not merely just that; we are the custodians of a century-long tradition, blending time-honored techniques with a commitment to excellence.

OUR STORY

In the heart of Latzoio, Pyrgos, Ilia, Greece, the Koutsis family has cultivated a legacy deeply rooted in the soil of tradition and resilience. Our narrative begins with our great-grandparents in the early 1900s, who, with foresight, planted the initial seeds of what would become a lasting family heritage. Starting with a modest dozen olive trees, their initial intent was to cater to personal household needs.

As time progressed, the responsibility of stewarding our family's agricultural journey transitioned to our grandfather, Andreas Koutsis. In the years spanning 1950-1980, he strategically expanded our land, enabling the cultivation of olives beyond personal use. This shift marked the genesis of our venture into the production of a modest quantity of high-quality olive oil.

However, the trajectory of our family's journey faced a significant turning point in 2007 when a substantial fire ravaged half of our land. In response, Andreas' son, Georgios Koutsis, made a calculated decision to replace the fire-affected grapevines with thriving olive trees. Through extensive investment and diligent effort, our land has since evolved to encompass 50 acres of fertile terrain along the Enipeas river.

At present, Georgios' son and two daughters actively contribute to the care and harvest of the olive trees, collectively steering the family legacy into a new era. The Koutsis family prides itself on maintaining a delicate equilibrium between tradition and progress, showcasing a commitment to quality, sustainability, and the enduring spirit of our heritage.
